Boston Central Neighbourhood Action Group

The Boston Central Neighbourhood Action Group (BCNAG) covers all areas within a mile of the Stump excluding the Witham East area which is represented by another Group.

The BCNAG meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm, currently at the Boston Sailing Club. The venue is subject to change so please contact us before attending. We have had the pleasure of meeting on the Boston Belle in the Summer and plan to continue.

The Group represents the community at local Government level and helps tackle issues such as anti-social behaviour, fly tipping, street parking, graffiti, planning development issues and Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMO) planning and licensing concerns.

The Group represents over 70 Streets.

Alongside being a voice for local people, the Group also carry out environmental improvement projects within the town using the Community Shed it developed and manages efficiently in the High Street.

Graham Lloyd, Chair of the Group said “We help the local community try to tackle issues that matter. We invite representation from local service providers such as Boston Borough Council and Lincolnshire Police. Regular attendees are Cllr Paul Goodale and Alan Osborne (representing the Lincolnshire Police & Crime Commissioners Office.)  Jo Snell, who has adopted the Station, regularly attends. Ian Dunn, Boston Borough Council Safety Officer has attended meetings and is available if we have particular concerns. We have had a very successful relationship with Jen Moore, the Council’s Environmental Supervisor who has organised litter picking, fly tipping removal and the removal of Graffiti from our area, improving our environment. The Group has been affiliated to the National HMO Lobby for some years and has a NHMOL Coordinator who provides updates on legislation”

At our meetings we are able to raise concerns and ask questions.

This has allowed us to get positive outcomes to many problems.

We have also attended local Council meetings where we raised issues that are important to local residents. The Group is represented in the Boston Borough Community Leaders’ Group.

The Group has diverse motivations and interests but finds a common interest in supporting our community.

The Group is looking for more residents from our area to come along to our meetings to represent their Street and communities. Why not come along and share your views with other residents and have a say in improving Boston.
