In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a platinum Jubilee. To mark The Queen’s historic 70 year reign, 2022 will see Platinum Jubilee celebrations throughout the UK and the Commonwealth as part of a year-long programme of events. As part of these celebrations we are inviting people to design a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee cake.

Those shortlisted will be invited to attend the bakery kitchens at Boston College to create their Jubilee cake in a final ‘bake off’ style celebration on Wednesday 1st June 2022.

Entry forms can be downloaded or forwarded on request via email or post by contacting (requests for forms to be forwarded by post, need to be made no later than Monday 9th May). All entry forms should be returned on or before the deadline of noon Sunday 15th May 2022 to Polly Wilkinson, Place Development Officer or by post to: Polly Wilkinson, Place Development Officer, Boston Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, West Street, Boston PE21 8QR.

Finalists who have been shortlisted will be notified on or before Friday 20th May and we ask that should you be shortlisted that you confirm your attendance to the ‘bake off’ by Monday 30th May. We will forward further details and guidance to the finalists when they are notified that they have been successful in being shortlisted.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bake Off will be listed as an event on the National Platinum Jubilee event website to raise the profile of Boston and the local area within the National Celebrations and we will be taking imagery and video content of the finals to share on our social media pages and submit to the Queen at the end of the year as part of our wider celebrations.

Please be aware there is the option to opt in to allow us to share your entry on social media and use quotes from your entry form to support the competition. We ask that one entry is submitted per person.  This competition is open to everyone over the age of 14 years and we ask that anyone who is shortlisted and under the age of 18 is accompanied by an adult to the ‘bake off’.

You will be asked to provide your own ingredients with basic kitchenware provided by the college. We wish to share the competition nationally and across our website pages and social media pages and therefore please be aware that we will be asking to include names and produce media content from the day. This project is being delivered in partnership with Boston College and we thank the Boston College team for their support.

The winner of the ‘bake off’ will be invited to attend an exclusive private afternoon tea dining experience for four people in the Mayors Parlour, followed by a tour of the towns Civic Regalia collection – date to be agreed with the winner of the competition. We hope that you will join us in this celebration and we look forward to receiving your entries! Please contact if you have any questions. Entry forms can be downloaded from the website
