Boston Borough Council have appointed a consultant to support Local Businesses within the Borough of Boston during the pandemic.
Clare Bailey, also known as The Retail Champion, is a well-known and respected retail expert in the UK and based within Lincolnshire. With a wealth of knowledge on retail, high streets and consumer matters, she is able to offer our local independent businesses within the retail, hospitality and leisure sector unbiased and independent support.
Clare will be looking to contact businesses remotely to introduce herself and will follow up with businesses that wish to engage with the programme by offering specific tailored advice to each business and their needs; including how to access financial support, training, development of digital skills, ways to diversify and how to build consumer confidence.
This project is part of Boston Borough Council’s work to support the safe reopening of the high streets through funding from the European Regional Development Fund and Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. This funding is to support a safe trading environment for businesses and customers during the economic emergency.
Clare is very much looking forward to meeting people and identifying ways that she can offer support. Clare said: “As an independent business consultant, engaged by Boston Borough Council to support local, independent, businesses across the area I am looking forward to making a tangible difference. I am here to help in any way I can, supporting businesses recover from the economic impact of Covid. I am looking forward to talking to businesses, and seeking ways to build resilience, diversify, and transform for a different future, as we all focus on the safe reopening of our high streets, towns and village centres”.
Cllr. Nigel Welton, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, said: “This project will make a real difference to supporting existing local independent businesses in offering specific tailored advice to each business and their needs in our borough.
“Given the pressures the business community are facing from Covid-19, we hope this investment will make a real difference to safeguarding and protecting our local businesses, and in delivering what they need to be able to move forward.”
