Work on the Community Garden in Central Park began today (Tuesday 6 October), it will incorporate a beautiful mosaic design on the buoy which sits in the centre of the garden.
The work will be carried out by Transported Art with assistance from garden designer Jeni Cairns and artist Carrie Reichardt.
Once the groundwork is completed the community will be invited through RVS, Boston Big Local and Boston in Bloom to take part in community planting sessions on the site led by Jeni.
Plants will include: multi-stem trees e.g. Acer freemannii, Hazel corylus avellana and Betulq nigra alongside various shrubs and perennials. Corun china girl, Lavenda, Cornus china girl, Viburnnum and many more and will include a variety of herbs.
The buoy will be encased in an amazing mosaic design in-keeping with the garden design. The community again will be invited to take part in the artwork led by Carrie.
This project has been funded by Government Park Improvement Funding, Boston Big Local, RVS Local People’s Programme and Boston Borough Council at a cost of £20,000.
The work is expected to take four weeks and will complete the planned development in Central Park.

The garden will bring a peaceful, tranquil area for the community to sit and relax in whilst taking in the fresh air and beauty of the trees and plants.”
