This July Boston Classic Car Club will be putting on a special display at the town’s Wide Bargate, thanks to funding support from the Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC).
With over 270 members, the Classic Car Club is host to owners of some of the most amazing cars from the past century and a number of these will be available to view at the display on July 3 and 4. Running from 10am-5pm on Saturday 3 July and 10am-4pm on Sunday 4 July, the display will allow members of the public to view the iconic vehicles and chat to their devoted owners.
Chairman of the BTAC, Councillor Paul Goodale, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the Classic Car Club with the display. Being able to bring back an event like this to the town centre after such a stop-start year in 2020 feels fantastic and I’m sure it’s something the whole community will enjoy.”
As well as running alongside the regular Saturday Market, the Classic Car Display will also coincide with the return of the Continental Street Market at Bargate Green. Operated by RR Events, the Continental Market is returning for its second visit of 2021 and will be offering a tons of tasty treats and delicacies from across the world, as well as a range of quirky and native craft items. The Continental Market will run from 10am-6pm on Thursday 1 July – Saturday 3 July, and 10am-5pm on Sunday 4 July.
Councillor Tracey Abbott, Boston Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Town Centre, said: “As we continue our journey out of lockdown, it’s great to have some wonderful events to look forward to. Having the Classic Car Display, Continental Street Market, and our wonderful Saturday market all taking place across the same weekend is fantastic, and something that not only our residents will enjoy but also a huge boost for our town centre businesses.”
