Active Boston, funded by Boston Big Local, has been praised by both stallholders and the public as a great success once again.

With over 1,000 visitors throughout the day, the free event of sport and health, provided attractions including a climbing wall, bouncy castle, wheelchair basketball and a ninja assault course.

Have-a-go sessions organised by Boston Amateur Boxing Club and Kuk Sool Won proved popular.

All of the attractions were provided free of charge courtesy of Boston Big Local.

Kristina Willoughby, events manager at Boston Borough Council, said: “We are very grateful to Boston Big Local for their support to allow us to put this event on, along with many other over the summer. It was a brilliant day and the weather held out for us, with only a small shower. So many families came out to support the event and we have received some fantastic feedback, thank you to everyone who has supported us over this year’s events, we have had so much fun meeting you all.”

Active Boston was the finale of three weekend events, the last Outdoor Cinema events for the year were held Friday and Saturday night. Friday night screened Mary Poppins Returns and guests were given a balloon as they left to be in keeping with the spirit of the film. Saturday night welcomed Moana to the screen, and bubble machines caused excitement amongst the kids.

The final event for this year in Central Park will be held on Saturday, where Blue Light Day will be on from 11am to 3pm. Please visit www.visitbostonuk.com for more information on this event.
