BT is proposing to remove eight public payphones from various locations in Boston borough.

BT is consulting the local communities and Boston Borough Council asking for comments on their proposals to remove eight payphones within the Borough. As part of this consultation process BT asks that if the local communities have any comments, that they forward them on to the Local Authority planning department by emailing planning@boston.gov.uk

BT have placed notices in the relevant payphone kiosks and the consultation period will close on Tuesday 12th December 2019.

The kiosks are as follows:

  • Eastwood Road, Boston
  • Hawthorn Tree corner/Eastwood Road, Boston
  • O/S 222 Sleaford Road, Boston
  • O/S NO 174 Carlton Road, Boston
  • Tower Road/Elizabeth Road, Boston
  • Outside telephone exchange Brand End Road, Butterwick, Boston
  • Swineshead Bridge, Swineshead, Boston
  • Church End, Wrangle, Boston

If you have comments in support, or objecting to the removal of a payphone, or if you wish to adopt a traditional red “heritage” box to make them an asset that local people can enjoy, then please visit http://bt.com/adopt It is a relatively simple process to adopt a telephone box, and costs just £1.
