It’s a fact that cycling is one of the easiest ways to get fit, maintain fitness, lose weight and gain stamina. You also get to take in the sights, sounds and scents of the countryside as you wheel on by along country lanes at your chosen pace.
Recent research also indicates that cycling is good for the mind – it makes you happy, with a wellbeing score 32 per cent higher than inactive individuals. Cycling burns calories, builds muscle and reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer.
There is another chance to get on a bike when the Get Cycling Roadshow comes to Boston Market Place from 10am to 3pm on Friday, July 26. There will be a chance to try out a mixture of conventional and unconventional bikes and have a go on the KMX Karts and the multi-passenger mega bike. There will be a junior track for the children and all within the safety of the traffic-free Market Place area.
There will also be a free cycle clinic for maintenance and minor repairs available.
And here’s one of the best bits – it’s for all the family and, thanks to sponsorship from Boston Big Local, it’s all completely free.
