Hundreds of people visited Central Park on Saturday, August 3 to attend the second Teddy Bear’s Picnic supported by Oldrids & Downtown. Isaac Bear came to meet the families, many of which had brought their own bears with them to enjoy the day.

Free face painting, circus skills workshop, a photo booth were just some of the activities to partake in. There was live performances from Josie Clark Academy and TJ Gymnastics, whilst Boston’s 107 Endeavour FM played music and introduced people throughout the day. Boston More In Common provided crafts to keep the children entertained with everything teddy bear-themed.

This event was funded by Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC) with additional support from Oldrids & Downtown.

Paul Marsh, Manager at Oldrids said: “Oldrids & Downtown were delighted to sponsor the Teddy Bears Picnic in Boston for a second year.  It is a great event for the town and everyone involved does a brilliant job bringing this together for the local community. It was lovely to see so many families taking a day out in the sunshine, all with their teddy bears, of course. We also invited our own Isaac Bear, as he never misses a chance for a party, to meet everyone and make some new friends.

It was clear that the event has grown from last year and feel confident that it will continue to gain popularity in our town. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event.”

Andy Izard, BTAC event volunteer said: “I am pleased to see the event grow from 2018 and thank you to all the organisations who attended on the day, there was a lovely friendly atmosphere. We have received really positive feedback and are pleased everyone had a great day. All organisations have shown an interest in returning for 2020.”

Kristina Willoughby, Boston Borough Council was pleased with the turnout and said: “Central Park is hosting various different events over the Summer and it is great to see so many people enjoying themselves. The money from BTAC allows us to deliver most of the Summer fun for free, with extra events funded by Boston Big Local or businesses. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this event. We hope to see you again over the Summer.”
