All members of Boston Borough Council have been asked to express their interest in sitting on a new group to investigate a borough-wide commitment to tackling climate change.
Cllr Anne Dorrian is to head up the working group tasked with accelerating a plan for the council to be carbon neutral.
On Tuesday (July 30) the council’s environment and performance committee agreed the working group should be set up after the full council earlier in the month had considered two proposals for the council to commit to carbon neutrality by 2050 or 2030.
Council Leader Cllr Aaron Spencer expressed a desire for a strategy for carbon neutrality to be an influence on the borough as a whole, and not just the council.
Full council agreed a progress report should be available in November and a final report before the council at its meeting on January 20.
