Help with heating and energy bills is available as part of a scheme run by Boston Borough Council, East Lindsey District Council and other local authorities.
A combination of winter weather and national lockdown restrictions means more people are staying at home, which can result in higher heating costs.
You could make significant home energy improvements to your property with government subsidised home improvements, through Lincs 4 Warmer Homes (L4WH).
L4WH is a new partnership between local authorities across Greater Lincolnshire, offering energy efficiency improvements and advice. The partnership secures funding available to eligible residents and works alongside contractors to deliver energy efficiency improvements to assist those living in fuel poverty, in saving money and reducing energy usage.
You could be entitled to improvements including:
- First time installation of gas central heating, or LPG alternative where main gas is not an option
- Loft insulation
- Cavity wall insulation
- Solid wall insulation
- Boiler replacements
Funding for the improvements is available via the Warm Homes Fund and ECO Funding streams. Funding is limited and will be released on a first come, first served basis, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
Portfolio Holder for Housing and Communities, Councillor Martin Griggs, said: “Since the launch of L4WH last year we have seen a good uptake in Boston Borough of the funding available. As we continue to follow the guidance during this latest lockdown and remain at home, we are aware many residents may be living in a cold home or struggling to heat them.
“The L4WH Team are available for support by offering advice and potentially securing you funding to make your home warmer over the colder months. I urge residents in the area to contact L4WH, talk to the experienced team of Home Energy professionals and see what eligible funding you could be entitled to.”
L4WH is administered by North East Lincolnshire Council’s regeneration partner, ENGIE, for all ten local authorities.
