This is a local neighbourhood group who hold regular two-monthly meetings at Boston Baptist Church at 6.30pm which are Wednesdays. Their next meeting is on Wednesday, November 6.

Their aim is to enhance our localities, for example with litter picks, tidying overgrown plants and trees, working with local councillors and churches, also the borough council and Lincolnshire Highways, subject of course to their ever-diminishing budgets.

They have a work-base at the shed in High Street where all the tools are kept, and from where our volunteer Charles does regular street litter picking and strimming. His work in High Street is particularly valuable due to the chronic littering in that area.

Their work often gets very positive feedback, when they come into contact with passers by, and one can often feel rewarded by their comments. They are Community Champions with the borough council, and as such are able to request extra litter bags at their local office and we are insured to work in public spaces.

Their successes over the years include many new litter bins, posts in streets to keep vehicles off grass verges, pavement enhancement, parking issues including new yellow-lining, painting playground equipment, looking into planning issues etc.

Over the years local interest has diminished, so they now seek to reinvigorate public spirit and support once more. The areas are High South, plus surrounding and adjacent streets, also a large residential area around Boston United Football Ground from John Adams Way to Maud Foster Drain.
