In March 2022, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that the Household Support Fund was being extended until 30th September 2022, with Lincolnshire allocated a further £5.5m. 53% of this funding is being provided to schools and early years providers to support eligible pupils. This time, these families will be provided with a one-off grant that they can use to help with food bills as and when needed.
The remaining 47% of the funding will be distributed via councils, of which a minimum of 33.33% will be directed at support for residents of state pension age and above, who meet the eligibility criteria to be agreed, in line with the guidance set by the Department for Work and Pensions. The remainder of this funding will be directed at other vulnerable groups. District councils are working in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council to agree and establish the appropriate methods for distributing this grant funding.
In May 2022, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that there will be a third round of the Household Support Fund to cover the period from October 2022 to March 2023. No further information regarding Lincolnshire’s allocation and how the funding can be used, is available at this time.
