This weekend saw more than 2000 visitors step back in time and visit the ‘Through the Ages’ event in Central Park, Boston.

The two-day event was free of charge and gave visitors the chance to see living history displays and chat to Vikings, Gladiators, Knights of Skirbeck, watch combat and full battle displays as well as walk round the historical villages to learn more about their lives. There was also Gladiator training for the kids to partake in.

Unfortunately the Georgian Red Coats were unable to attend but visitors still tried on armour, took a closer look at the weapons and how they were made.

This event was an expanded version of the Lost and Found Viking event from 2018, and was a great event for all the family.

Kristina Willoughby, Boston Borough Council’s town centre services manager, said: “Despite Saturday morning the weather has been kind to us. It was great to see the growth on 2018, the groups had a fantastic day and we have received really positive comments from the public. Plans are already being made for a further expansion for 2020”.

Susan sent a message to Visit Boston; “Fantastic day today enjoyed by all from 6 to 62! We all learned from it. The children got to do a Viking warrior workshop and strike coins. They held axes and tried on helmets. It was all excellent.”

This event was funded by Boston Town Area Committee and is just one of the many in this year’s calendar, to keep up-to-date with all events held in Boston please visit www.visitbostonuk.com
