Businesses in the Boston area are being urged to sign up for a community event which provides a stage to inform the town’s young people about future career opportunities.

Haven High Academy’s Marian Campus hosts its innovative Impact FEST 22 event on 6th July, which serves as both the school’s careers fair and a community event rolled into one.

Haven High Academy’s Director of Careers and Aspirations, Kimberley Pickersgill, said: “Impact FEST last ran in 2019 and is a totally free opportunity for the business community, educational establishments, and our local community to come into our school and have a meaningful encounter with all of the students from Haven High Academy.

“It is my responsibility to ensure that our students experience as many opportunities as possible that will positively influence their education and career pathways – and Impact FEST is one of those opportunities.

“I welcome any employer or organisation that would like to influence and support Haven’s students in the future, ensuring they become happy and successful citizens, to contact me.”

All Year 7-10 students from Haven High Academy will attend Impact FEST 22, spending an hour in each of its five zones in order to engage with those exhibitors, employers, and educational establishments which are present. These engagements aim to raise aspirations and enable students to make informed decisions about their future educational and career pathways.

The event’s zones are:

  • Arts and Community (Volunteers & Charity)
  • STEM and Enterprise
  • Health & Social Care (human and animals)
  • Uniform Public Services and Catering, Hospitality, Nutrition and Fitness
  • Business and Enterprise

Exhibitors from all over the country have already confirmed their attendance, including Butlins, the Fire Service, Police, NHS, Boston College, the Cadets Force and the Armed Forces.

Boston’s Community Hub and Language Lab, both based at Haven High Academy, will also be exhibiting the services they can offer to the community.

  • The deadline to register interest for the event is June 22nd.
