The Leader of the Council, Cllr Paul Skinner has issued the following statement after Saturday’s news of a new national lockdown across England from Thursday 5th November by Government.

“Saturday’s announcement has left many people feeling uneasy about the upcoming month. After leaving the first national lockdown behind, many people in the Boston borough have demonstrated a huge effort to follow the rules to help minimise the spread of the infection.

“At this time we are waiting on further details from Government with specific details of the lockdown set out. We need to work together, stay strong and continue to follow the rules to get this virus back under control.

“As a Council we are very aware of the impact a lockdown can have on our communities, including those who run businesses. It won’t be an easy time, but we must follow the rules.

“As with the first lockdown, it’s very important that people know help is available if they need it. Staff are working hard across the council to make sure that services continue with as little disruption as possible and that we can respond to changes and continue to support our local communities.”
