The Lincolnshire Tourism Excellence Awards was held at the Doubletree by Hilton in Lincoln on Thursday 12th March.
With 12 categories and three businesses shortlisted under each, it was a great achievement for Boston Guildhall Museum to be among the finalists in the Small Visitor Attraction category, sponsored by the Petwood Hotel.
The message was very much “Tourism – Live, Visit, Work” with Stay-cations being recognised as an opportunity for the county in light of the current climate.
The value of tourism in Greater Lincolnshire is £2.4b, with 35 million visitors…. And for Boston to be recognised within these awards is a great acknowledgement for the town.
Congratulations to all of the entries and the finalists and of course the winners of the evening.
With the opportunities that the Tourism Sector Deal brings, Lincolnshire will very much be looking to bid towards receiving funding to become a Tourism Zone and events such as these awards highlight what a wonderful offer Lincolnshire has as a whole, both to local communities and to national and international visitors.
