Representing Boston in the upcoming Miss Lincolnshire beauty pageant, 21-year-old Mia Rothwell visited Boston’s Community ‘Rapid’ Test Centre this week for a voluntary test, to encourage others to visit one of the two centres for a quick test.

Located at Haven High Academy’s Tollfield Campus and Boston College’s Peter Paine Sports Centre, we accompanied the student, model and business owner as she visited one of these  sites to get tested.

Mia said: “The testing process is really simple and easy to do. The staff at the site are really helpful in guiding you on where to go, and what to do, and you are in and out within 5 minutes, and you get a result sent to your phone within an hour after your test.”

Cllr Paul Skinner, Leader of Boston Borough Council, said: “I am pleased to hear so many of Boston’s residents have taken up the opportunity of a symptom-free test. Boston was delighted to be able to launch targeted community testing for people without symptoms, and this type of testing is already helping to stop the spread of this deadly virus here in our town.

“Thank you to the whole team behind this programme for their continued support in running the testing centres – the guidance and support they are providing those arriving for tests is unsurpassed. I’d urge everyone to book a test and play your part in slowing the spread of this virus.”
