Household Waste Recycling Centre – Bittern Way, Boston, Lincolnshire, PE21 7RQ

The Household Waste Recycling Centre is by Lincolnshire County Council.

Residents of Boston can bring household waste FREE OF CHARGE to the HWRC to dispose of household recycling and household waste.

There is a small team who run the site and who are on hand to help residents with large items and direct you to the correct containers.

  • Food tins and drinks cans

  • Garden waste

  • Hardcore and rubble
  • Household and garden chemicals
  • Mattresses
  • Mixed glass bottles and jars
  • Mixed textiles and clothes
  • Mobile phones
  • Paper
  • Plasterboard
  • Plastics
  • Printer cartridges
  • Scrap metal
  • Small appliances
  • Soil
  • TVs and monitors
  • Used engine oil
  • Wood and timber

Site rules

  • No commercial waste is accepted.
  • No clinical waste is accepted.
  • No asbestos-based material is accepted.
  • Soil, hardcore and plasterboard are not classified as household waste, but residents may bring 1 dustbin full per person per day.
  • Children (under the age of 16) must remain in cars at all times while on the site.
  • Site operators are permitted to reclaim for re-use non-electrical household items.


Commercial waste is not accepted on site as the facility is for domestic household waste only. Trade waste customers will be turned away
