Michelle Sacks, Deputy Chief Executive (Place), and Lydia Rusling, Assistant Director – Towns Fund, at Boston Borough and East Lindsey District Councils will front an upcoming webinar focussed on the Government’s Towns Fund scheme.
The webinar, hosted by Team Lincolnshire in partnership with Business Lincolnshire, will look at the Boston and Skegness & Mablethorpe Town Deal bids. The bids, worth up to a combined £75m, were submitted to Government in late 2020 and seek to deliver transformational change for Lincolnshire’s east coast, with projects that will look to facilitate economic growth and regeneration, improve transport and connectivity, and develop skills and culture.
Michelle and Lydia will share details of each area’s Town Investment Plan, outlining how the projects will tackle local issues to improve the town deal areas and create even more opportunity for future investment. The pair will also discuss how the three bids are being aligned thanks to the Councils’ Strategic Alliance.
Speaking about the webinar, Michelle said: “The Towns Fund represents the opportunity to deliver transformative regeneration and development within our areas. These bids can help us address local issues, setting our towns up to reap genuine long-term benefits and attract further investment in the future. The process of pulling these bids together, which has included an unparalleled amount of partnership working and community engagement, has been truly unique – especially with a global pandemic to contend with too – and we’re looking forward to being able to share our experience and our shared learning with delegates.”
The Introduction to the Boston and Skegness & Mablethorpe Town Deal Funds webinar takes place on Thursday, February 11 at 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. More information on the event is available on the Business Lincolnshire website.
