A central Boston shopping centre has donated over £2000 to 5 local charities through its Santa’s Grotto initiative.
Pescod Square Shopping Centre announced recently a total sum of £2283 was raised throughout November and December whilst the Grotto was situated in the centrally located shopping precinct, and has donated all profits to 5 local charities including Boston Sea Cadets, the Butterfly Hospice, Blackfriars Arts Centre, Boston Community Support Group and Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
Lisa Dawson, Centre Manager said: “The response we have received this year has been ecstatic. As we start to adapt to the normality surrounding the pandemic, it’s heart-warming to see communities coming together to celebrate the festive period with their loved ones, and bringing the children to see Santa in his grotto, here at Pescod Square, particularly as they were unable to visit Santa the previous Christmas. My thanks goes to everyone involved for playing their part, without whom, Santa wouldn’t have been able to make the children of Boston’s Christmas wishes come true. Special thanks also goes to Metsa Wood who, once again, kindly supported us by building our special grotto.”
