Freedom of Information Requests Relating to Taxi Licensing
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) gives people a right of access to information held by public bodies unless an exemption applies.
Section 40 of the Act provides an exemption to withhold personal data. Personal data is defined in the Data Protection Act 2018 (and UK GDPR) as data which relate to a living individual who can be identifiedn from –
(A) Those data, or
(B) From those data and other information which is in the possession of, or is likely to come into the possession of, the data controller or third parties.
The Council is obliged to release some information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 which would consist of details limited to company names, make, model of vehicles licensed, licence start and expiry dates.
We will update this information on a quarterly basis. We will not provide individual responses to requests during the year for similar information but will redirect requests to the published list held on this webpage.
