It’s a big day for Boston on Monday – the lead judge for the East Midlands will be in town to assess in-bloom’s efforts and whether they are deserving of a fifth gold medal.

Boston In Bloom volunteers and helpers have been busy all year round and are now adding the finishing touches.

And you can help make a good impression. If you have a property on the judging route you can make a weekend effort to weed and remove litter.

Alison Fairman, Boston in Bloom chairman, said: “I’d ask anyone that if they see litter, bin it. The big jobs are complete, but there are always bits and pieces which can be done last minute to help. We are always grateful for all the kindness shown and help received. Someone from the Hanse turned up and weeded Bedesman’s Lane before they left, which was very kind.”
