The council operates 21 car parks offering 1,330 parking spaces within the town centre. An additional 1,200 spaces are offered by private car park providers. All council car parks operate on a pay and display basis.
Please visit our Car Park Closures/Disruptions page for news regarding any works that may affect access to parking in the town.
Car Parking Charges
Please see our car park guide on the right hand side of this page for information on the tariffs in each car park. Please check the machines and signage within the car parks to ensure that you are paying the correct amount to cover the time that you wish to park for.
Our car park machines do not issue change. You can pay by phone using the number provided on the side of the machine or download the App, MiPermit (not valid at on- street parking locations: Market Place, Station Approach, South Street, Wide Bargate and Pump Square)
Motorcycle Parking
Free spaces, designated by the letters ‘M/C Only’, are provided at various points throughout the town centre. The following Council-operated car parks provide bays for motorcycle parking: Buoy Yard, Cattle Market, Custom House Quay, Market Place, Staniland, Station Approach, St George’s Road, West End and Wide Bargate.
Coach Parking
Town centre coach parking is available at Bond Street, off St George’s Road. Parking tickets cost £3.50 for 24 hours and should be purchased from the ticket machines in St George’s Road car park, PE21 8YB.
Motorhome Parking
Vehicles may occupy up to four bays in our off-street car parks as long as a ticket is purchased and displayed for each bay used.
Parking for Blue Badge Holders
On Street Parking
Blue Badge holders are permitted to park free of charge within all on-street car parks operated by the council. These include Market Place, Pump Square, South Square, Station Approach and Wide Bargate. Both the disabled badge and time clock should be clearly on display in the windscreen at all times.
Off Street Parking
Blue Badge holders must pay to park in all off-street car parks operated by the council. An additional free period of 30 minutes will be added to the expiry time of any ticket purchased, when the vehicle is displaying a Blue Badge.
Disability Payment Scheme
The council recognises that some Blue Badge holders may have difficulty using a car park ticket machine and operates a disability payment scheme to enable these individuals to pay for parking without having to use the ticket machines.
Cycle Parking
Cycle racks for secure cycle parking are available at various locations (please see map).
West End Cinema Parking Refund Scheme
Boston Borough Council work in partnership with West End Cinema to provide a refund scheme for tickets purchased during certain periods by cinema customers. The ticket machines in this car park issue a parking ticket and a refund voucher. When purchasing a cinema ticket, customers need to produce the refund voucher and they will then receive a refund on their parking ticket up to the value of 4 hours parking. Refund vouchers are valid for tickets purchased which cover the following periods:
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 3.00pm – midnight.
Saturdays, Sundays and any days designated as school holidays by the education authority for Boston.
Wednesdays 10.30am – midnight.
Tickets may be purchased up to 1 hour before these times; customers purchasing a ticket at any other time, or in any other car park will not be entitled to a refund.
