Yesterday (Tuesday 17th December), residents from Hunters Creek Care Home and Mayfields in Broadfield Lane enjoyed a bus trip to see the towns Christmas Lights. The idea came from Christmas In Boston member, Julie Perrot, who felt it would be nice for them to enjoy the lights. Fran Taylor from Boston Borough Council devised a route that not only included the great display of lights by Christmas in Boston this year but also featured the local residents houses all lit up. ‘It was fantastic, we saw polar bears, snowman and waving Santa’s on the route; everyone had a fantastic time.’ Fran said. Julie Perrot added ‘A Good Time was had by all’.

Cllr Deborah Evans, Deputy Mayor joined the trip, pulling crackers with the residents enjoying the festivities.

Kristina Willoughby from Boston Borough Council wanted to thank everyone for making this possible at the last minute and thank you to the Nurses and Care Assistants who joined the trip to ensure the residents could come out. Thanks also to Sean of Phil Haines Coaches.

Following the success it is hoped this could become an annual event extending to many more care homes and supported residents living.

Happy Christmas everyone!
