A FLOOD WARNING is now in force for Waterside properties between Town Bridge and Haven Bridge in Boston.
Environment Agency have said: “Stormy conditions are forecast, resulting in a tidal surge moving down the East Coast of England from Monday. The high tides combined with strong winds are expected to result in large waves and possible seepage through the sea defences. The time and date of the forecast high water is 08:20hrs on Tuesday, 1 OCT 2019. Flooding to properties could occur through low level seepage however we are not expecting flooding through overtopping. Low lying roads are expected to flood at these times in combination with surface water. Flooding conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. Avoid quays, footpaths and roads adjacent to Witham Haven, as sea spray and large waves can be dangerous. Coastal conditions should ease by Wednesday afternoon, however we are continuing to monitor the situation and will update this message if the situation changes. Our staff are out in the area to close tidal gates, check defences and assist the emergency services and council.”
