Boston Borough Council attended the World of Work (WOW) Festival organised by LiNCHigher on Wednesday 12th February 2020 at the Princess Royal Sports Arena in Boston.
The WOW festival targeted the communities’ year 9 young people, giving them an insight into the range of local employers and opportunities available to them when they complete their education.
With many organisations in Lincolnshire we were able to get the message across to young people that understanding the local labour market will help them to make positive choices about their next steps and that there are a huge range of job roles, requiring different levels of qualifications within many companies in Lincolnshire.
Our goal was to contribute to making this an interactive event and so the young people were able to take away a new idea, experience or something that they created themselves on the day. We were proud that our very own apprentices also supported this event sharing their own experiences with the young people.
We were able to contribute to making this a really excellent event and were able to demonstrate the passion and creativity of Lincolnshire businesses to support and develop young people in the region.
